We’re always trying to find unique and creative ways to use our various wrapping products, other than just for wrapping.
Recently, our Store staff came up with this fun alternative for our hinged CD tin. Why not make a tic tac toe game that is not only portable but also self-contained!
To create this attractive project, you will need the following: (all the supplies except the magnetic sheets are available at Essential Packaging)
1 metal CD tin
3 assorted coloured cardstock sheets (we used pink, purple and yellow)
1 ric rac ribbon (we used white)
2 gingham ribbons (we used yellow and purple)
1 package curly fasteners
additional embellishments for the front cover (we added some paper flowers, fasteners)
glue runner / glue dots
hole punch (optional)
1 magnetic sheet (available at craft stores)
To make the tic tac toe game board
1. Attach a piece of coloured cardstock (we used pink) to the front cover, trimmed to fit; embellish as desired
2. Attach the same coloured cardstock to the inside of the tin base, not the lid
3. Glue the ric rac ribbon to form the 9 space game grid
To make the tic tac toe game pieces
4. Cut 2 colurs of cardstock into 1” squares; attach the cardstock squares to ½” squares of magnet
5. Using the gingham ribbon, tie bows to the curly fasteners, then glue the fasteners to the above pieces of cardstock
6. You should have a total of ten game pieces; 5 of one colour combination and 5 of the other colour combination
