Snowman Soup Gift Box and Cone Bag

Snowman Soup Gift Box

By now most of you have seen our Snowman Soup Cone Bag project (shown below) and already know how easy and fun it is to make.

This year we’ve taken Snowman Soup to a whole new level.

Instead of the original cone bag in this version you’ll need the following packaging materials:

  • one 7” x 4” x 3” gift box
  • three seasonal cello bags
  • one piece tissue
  • one yard of WraphiaTM
  • one 12” x 22” clear basket bag
  • length of coordinating ribbon
  • seasonal accents
  • one preprinted Snowman Soup tag

The food ingredients are the same
(and available at your local grocery store):

  • 1 cup hot chocolate
  • ¼ cup M & M's or crushed Christmas candy
  • ¾ cup miniature marshmallows
  • optional candy cane (used as a stirring stick)

Package each of the above food ingredients in a separate cello bag and tie with WraphiaTM. Put tissue in the giftbox, nestle the cello bags on top of the tissue and add in an optional candy cane as a stir stick and you could add in a decorative mug and/or spoon if you choose. Put the giftbox into the basket bag and tie with coordinating ribbon and add the seasonal accent and pre-printed Snowman Soup Tag.

This fun and easy recipe is ideally suited for smaller children, as well as adults, so it's a perfect gift idea for teachers, grandparents and friends. It also makes a great fundraising project. Enjoy!

Snowman Soup

Ingredients
  • 1 cup hot chocolate
  • ¼ cup M & M's or crushed Christmas candy
  • ¾ cup miniature marshmallows
  • optional candy cane (used as a stirring stick)
Supplies
  • 2 clear cone bags
  • twist tie
  • ribbon
  • cardstock for tag
Fill one cone bag with the hot chocolate powder; using the twist tie, secure the bag so the powder doesn't come out and cut off excess cone bag above twist tie. Place the filled bag inside the second bag, layering the M & M's or crushed candy on top of the sealed bag, finally adding the marshmallows on top of the candy layer. Tie the cone bag securely with ribbon and attach the optional candy cane to be used as a stirring stick. See our BLOG for more photos and instructions.

Hand write or type the following verse on a small card (or use our pre-made tag below) and attached to the cone bag.

I was told you've been real good this year, always glad to hear it.
With freezing weather drawing near, you'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup complete with stirring stick. Add hot water, sip it slow, it's sure to do the trick!

TIP: do have some cone bags leftover from your Snowman Soup project? Try filling them with assorted candies (such as M & M's, jelly beans), wrapped chocolates, mixed nuts or cramel corn and give them as stocking stuffers or last minute gifts.
